Awesome Day unlocking Lisbon!
"So much fun for our very first WithLocals experience! From start to end, Diogo struck such a great balance between explanations around traditional food history, fun facts, Lisbon historical context and lunchtime chit-chat, all contributing to a memorable foodie adventure that offered such great insights simply not achievable via group tours or self-guided sorties. All that we hoped for, and MORE!
"Jorge is an excellent tour guide for the city of Lisbon. He is so knowledgeable! After providing us with a very thorough history lesson on Lisbon and Portugal, we set out on our walking tour which was so extensive, so informative and very delightful. When he pointed to the Castelo de Sao Jorge and said we’d get there and then end at the main square, it didn’t seem possible, but we did it!!!!! Tired feet aside, the tour was all we could ask for and so much more. HIGHLY RECOMMEND booking a tour with Jorge!! He’s the BEST!! He’s thoughtful, considerate and so knowledgeable! It was perfect!! A Great Finish
"On the first day of our month in Portugal, we spent a great morning with Antonio learning about Portugal through a Food Tour. As we were finishing our trip back in Lisbon and had missed the Alfama and Mouraria neighbourhoods, we couldn't think of a better way to do it than through Antonio. Fortunately, he was free and our last morning was as informative and enjoyable as our first morning had been. It's amazing how much ground can be covered and how much one can learn strolling up and down those narrow streets. Thank you Antonio :)"

Great Lisbon experience with amazing Sonia
"We had great time with lovely Sonia in Lisbon. We learned some about Lisbon's history, about buildings and monuments. We enjoyed local food and liquor. Time was so relaxed but goes by far too quickly. Booking Sonia as our Lisbon Guide was the best Idea. "

Great history on Lisbon
"We had a wonderful afternoon walking tour with Isabel. We had limited time in Lisbon so the tour was great as she took us to the major viewpoints. Isabel is passionate about her city. She gave us a nice history lesson including the 1974 revolution. "

Perfect
"Sofia was engaging and personable. She hit all the right notes! We had a cultural/food tour that was perfect. She was able to discuss the history and struggles and successes of Lisbon and Portugal from a personal view point that was interesting and valuable. Not at all dry and monotonous. She took us to food places that were the perfect introduction to food traditions of the area that had more of a local flavor than tourist spots. It was perfect."

The best food tour in Lisbon
"It is difficult to express how much we enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Amanda, was such a a warm and caring person who told us about her background and asked us about ours. Our tour began with an authenic Portuguese meal at Casa da India, including wine, bread, octopus salad, cod croquettes, and semi firm goat cheese. The restaurant was packed with people but Amanda had reserved a table for us. As we walked through the area Amanda provided a history lesson for various places we passed. For example a coffee house La Brassileira established in 1905 which was a meeting place for artists and intellectuals. We passed by the oldest operating bookstore in the world, the Livaria Bertrand-Chiado which opened in 1732. Next a cart on the street "Cherryoutrip" serving Ginjinha. António first explained how Ginjinha was made and then treated us with a shot, and another poured into a tiny chocolate cup and finally a shot of ginjinha+chocolate+piripiri. (chilli). Delicious! As we walked on Amanda continued to point out key buildings and really cool street art. Next we went to Taberna Casa Do Alentejo which is in a Moorish style cultural center, which is beautifully tiled, right in the middle of Baixa. In a lovely outdoor area under an olive tree, we were served wine, bread and chorizo, which was grilled at our table. We then went to Fábrica Da Nata to have the incredibly delicious pastéis de nata with coffee. An absolute must to visit. Needless to say, we were completely sated and happy to have taken this very special tour with Amanda!"

Jetlag made us do it!
"Our delayed flight, and late hour of arriving through us for a loop. We showed up for our Sintra Tour a day early, so did not have the opportunity to meet Sofia. We missed so much of Sintra. Because of our missed opportunity, we cannot complete the price-value rating."
